BEAN BOX - Monthly Coffee Bean subcription based out of Seattle. I was lucky enough to correspond with Yael from Bean Box after locating them on my Instagram account. Yael generously shared a sample box with me and as I'm sure she knew would happen ......I am hooked! I waited until today to try the "HERKIMER COFFEE" from the sample box. This was a feat in it's own because I have had this subscription box since the beginning of the week, but I wanted to make sure I made their special coffee in my new brewing system. Their subscription box was the real reason I ordered a CHEMEX brewer from Amazon.ca. The Chemex arrived in record breaking time last week. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the special filters you have to use with the brewer. Those just arrived this afternoon. When I think of Yael of Bean Box this saying comes to mind "When our actions are based on good intentions our soul has no regrets!" Thanks again for your generosity Yael! Without it, I would have no idea your great coffee is out there!

Here is my SUPER AWESOME Sample Box and you can get yours HERE for only $20 a month!!

Bean Box Sample Box

Here are my roasted lovingly-crafted coffee bean samples. Included in this box is from left to right are the Lighthouse Roasters Fine Coffees, Herkimer Coffee, Kuma Coffee and Conduit Coffee Company. The Lighthouse prides itself on 20 years of experience hand roasting premium batches. The "Roaster's Choice" blend has dark, bold taste to engage the palate. Herkimer Coffee is a Seattle icon, all about detail and strict attention to provide a wide varietal of specialty roasts. The "Drip Blend" included is all about hints of cherry, caramelized sugar and chocolate. I personally can say that Herkimer is so very, very smooth and addictive. Next we have Kuma Coffee. They, as well, are known for their percision roasting and has won several awards for their coffee. This "Guatemala La Folie" has notes of apple, tea and chocolate. Lastly in line is Conduit Coffee Company, which is all about ethics and sustainable practices. Their "Costa Rica Hacienda Sonora Catuai Rojo" has notes of vanilla, melon and chocolate.

MY CHEMX AND GOOSENECK KETTLE

MY CHEMEX BREWER AND GOOSENECK KETTLE ready to start brewing!! I bought my Chemex system from Amazon.ca.

Chemex Brewing

CHEMEX DOING IT'S JOB. YOU REALLY DO NEED THE GOOSENECK KETTLE. A regular kettle has too large of a pouring area for you to control the water blossoming your coffee. ALSO, CHEMEX DOES HAVE A HAND BLOWN WATER KETTLE WHICH IS ALSO AVAILABLE ON AMAZON.CA.

Below video I feature the coffee in my lovely pottery mug made by the super-talented Laurie Belisle, AKA "AmazonSirenWarrior". Find her on Instagram @amazonsirenwarrior.

COFFEE IS ON!!!!
