October's theme was Hawaii and to me this subsription makes me feel like a kid again. When I was younger, my cousin and her family had lots of money and travelled alot. My family did not. They used to go to Hawaii every Christmas and every Christmas I would be so jealous and envious of her. Being that we were best friends, besides relatives... she would bring me home souvenirs each year. I, to this day, have the jar of sand she brought back. Of course, this was back in the early 80's when flight rules and regulations were very lax. As much as I was envious of her, I always got excited when she came home because the thrill of surprise souvenirs made me so happy!! BLACK LAVA SEA SALT - It's infused with activated charcoal! I don't know if you know all the healthy attributes activated charcoal has but I have been a fan of this supplement on more than one occassion. It is so good to take when you have stomach ailments, besides being good for digestions and is also used to treat ulcers and acid reflux. I like that we can use this as a finishing salt. This salt comes from Kauai. The salt ponds on this island of Kauai are an ancient harvesting place for Hawaiian Sea Salt. The next time you have an upset stomach, don't forget about activated charcoal!
PINEAPPLE TIKI TOTEM - I love on the fact sheet included in the box it explains why Tikis are so important to the native Hawaiians. They are used as spiritual figures with their menacing expressions to scare away evil spirits. I did not know this ... but the tiki totems sport different headdresses that mean different things. They chose for this box a pineapple tiki which means HOSPITALITY. I feel like a dope! I never noticed they have different headdresses before this fact sheet came, and this is not my first Tiki...... if you know what I mean? LOL
FILTHY FARMGIRL SOAP - Creamy Coconut Cutie Handmade in Hawaii with 100% natural ingredients. The soap takes me to the beach to that Awesome Coconut Suntan Lotion smell.
VINTAGE POSTCARDS - FOUR VINTAGE POSTCARDS depicting scenes from the past. Ideal for framing! Great idea .... I'm thinking a beachy bathroom theme and these will go perfect on the wall!!
GREENWELL FARMS 100% KONA COFFEE - Is a gormet grown coffee. Kona coffee is only grown in Hawaii. Let this be a reminder to all.... stock up when you're there! It's so reasonable to buy while you are in HAWAII and no other coffee is like Kona coffee!! Sweet...smooooth and nutty! This was a nice treat finding it in this subscription box :)
HAWAII PINK PLUMERIA CUTTING - This has to be my favorite item in the box! I'm so excited to grow a PLUMERIA of my own, in my own home! Plumeria are the tropical trees famous for their gorgeous, fragrant flowers that they use when making leis. I seriously cannot wait for mine to grow into beautiful blooms to take me back to the islands!! Nice Job "TAKE YOUR VACATIONS"!!
