WOW!! After a long anticipated wait ......my boxes arrived!! I'm a HUGE Foodie and these boxes are exactly what I enjoy. Try The World had a promotion that you could get the Italy box free with any new subscription. Unfortunately, this offer is only available to USA residents. I contacted the company asking if I could still get the Italy box as I would be blogging about their subscription. They were kind enough to forward me the Italy box with the Morocco box (see separate blog). I am so happy they did too! Italian food seems to be what I tend to cook more of in our house. It's funny that Italian is my go-to with my Ukranian/French background.
The Subscription is $39.00 USD per month, plus shipping. There are other payment options available with discounts if you want to pay three, six or 12 months at one time.
ITALY BOX - Inspired by Chef Laura Vitale, YouTube sensation and host of "Laura in the Kitchen" and Cooking Channel's "Simply Laura". She has provided all the best pantry staples from Italy. With each Try the World box is included a fact sheet of the items in the box, as well recipes and product key. These cards are so informative and full of fun facts! A nice addition to help you connect with each of their boxes.
VIVACE Ground Coffee - Italians are very obsessed with their coffee and the locals follow an unspoken, but strict, rules about how to drink it: never mix with milk unless it's for breakfast and always drink straight shots of espresso in one sip.
LA PASTA DI ALDO EGG PAPPARDELLE - The handmade noodles are made with just egg and flour. Because they are hand made, they are more porous, so they hold sauces better than machine-made noodles.
MARABISSI CLASSIC AMARETTI - In 1948 the Marabissi family opened their first bakery in Siena. Still today, they use flour from Pugliesi almonds grown in Southern Italy instead of the more common and cheaper option of ground apricot kernel. Extra crushed almonds stirred into the batter give these cookies a delicious texture. The box suggests to layer into Tiramisu or serve with strawberries and cream. YUM!
SOCIETA AGRICOLA ACETOMODENA BALSAMIC VINEGAR - This Balsamic is quality certified by the Italian government and free of coloring. Acetomodena grows Lambrusco and Trebbiano grapes in the family orchard before crushing, cooking and aging the juice in oak and chestnut barrels.
SABATINO TARTUFI TRUFFLE ZEST - This is very exciting. I have always wanted to try Truffle Zest and now I can! Major chefs flock to Sabatino Tartufi for the quality truffle products that this family-owned company has been making since 1911. Their truffle zest is brand new product made with real truffles that are grown on the family grounds. Suggestions are to sprinkle over pasta or garnish risotto.
CASCINA SAN CASSIANO PESTO SAUCE - Located in former Benedictine abbey, Cascina San Cassiano makes this incredible pesto sauce with locally-sourced produce. Plus, their eco-friendly production line is solar powered causing no pollution. Whisk it into salad dressing or layer into sandwiches.
MAISON DELLA NOCCIOLA HAZELNUT SPREAD - Maison della Nocciola has been growing hazelnuts certified by the Italian government in Piedmonte for five generations. This cream is named after the daughter of the current owners and contains 54% hazelnuts - close to 40% more than most spreads on the market. Update classic PB&J or spread over pancakes.
TERRIGENA MUSHROOM RISOTTO KIT - Made with all-natural seasonings and arborio rice from Northern Italy, so it's easier for home cooks to make the otherwise complicated risotto preparation. The rice undergoes a particular husking process to keep its out layer intact and improve it's texture.
