TRY THE WORLD collaborates with notable chefs to curate the selection of products for every box. The process ensures that all items you receive are authentic and of the absolute highest quality. Items are sourced directly from their country of origin, and they make every effort to work with small, family-owned companies who follow traditional and artisanal methods of production. Each box comes with a Culture Guide that includes the story behind each product, recipes to make with the items, and tips to best experience the country’s culinary culture.

Every box is truly a wonderful culinary experience. They include recipes for you to use your new products, helping bring your box to life. Also included in each box is a synopsis of the Country featured and the Chef that curates it. As well, it includes a brief description of each of the products. This month's Chile Box was curated by Chef Carolina Bazan. She is the leader of the food movement in Chile, who also runs a world-class restaurant in Santiago called "Ambrosia". She highlights products in this box from the tip of the Country, right through the middle.

TRY THE WORLD - CHILE BOX

pololeo candy

LA VIDA PORTENA - POLOLEO CANDY

These candies are all about love. They arrived to Valparaiso in 1930. Showing up on romantic dates with personal enchanting messages on each candy.

wine jelly

MICKELSEN GOURMET - CAREMENERE WINE JELLY

One of my most favorite wines in jelly form! The family-owned business mastered this grape's one-of-a kind flavor for over a hundred years. They suggest to eat with cheese or serve with steak.

chips

TIKA - PATAGONIA CHIPS

The vegetables used to make these chips are of a variety of color and are grown on a farm just outside Santiago. A delicious and exotic snack. Natural colors. Gluten Free. No Additives and Low in Salt.

sea salt

NAU SABORES - SEA SALT WITH PEBRE

100% Natural, lightly spiced Atacama Seawater Crystal Salts. The salt is found in the Atacama Desert. One of the most arid deserts in the world.

nomad

NOMAD - DRIED FRUIT & NUT MIXl

Chili is one of the largest exporters of fruit in the world. Nomad created a super healthy snack using these local dried fruits and nuts to pack all essential vitamins and minerals into one easy, transportable snack.

merken

TEMUCO GOURMET - MERKEN SPICE

A spice used to add a lovely smokiness and distinct flavor. It is a blend of smoked chili peppers. Delicious on your choice of protein or even in a quick appetizer. Add to cream cheese and serve on crackers or baguette.

olive oil

KILKAI - EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

Just as the maker's name is about the most valued jewels, this cold-pressed virgin olive oil is a complete gem. It has fresh grassy notes, with a mild almond and fruity flavor.

relajarte tea

TE GUSTA - RELAJARTE TEA

This Spanish named tea means "to relax". Spanish being the national language of Chile. This natural tea is a herbal blend of Chilean lavender, mint, lemon verbena and cinnamon that can be enjoyed warm or cold.

chile box

This Chile TRY THE WORLD BOX came with amazing recipes to use the products in. The first recipe being for Carmenere Granola, using the Carmenere Wine Jelly and the Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Then Poor Man's Steak with Fried Egg and Potatoes, using the Merken Spice, Olive Oil and Sea Salt with Pebre. Last recipe being Red Tea and Berry Panna Cotta incorporating Relajarte Tea, Olive Oil and the Caremenere Jelly.

This box always takes me out of the box, and cook things I would never dream of making. If you have not subscribed to this box, you really should try it!! They usually have a great deal when you first sign up and sometimes offer a second Country box FREE!
